You can find some correspondence about Brunner in the Archives. He is
Swiss, studied with Cahuzac, plays Buffet RC instruments with Vandoren
5RV mpc and Glotin reeds #3. I have this information 3rd hand, but it
is reliable, I think. Photos of him clearly show Buffet Prestige
instruments, which he played in the Bavarian Radio Symphony, an unusual
example of a French system instrument in a German orch. Cahuzac played a
5RV mouthpiece as well, by the way. I have found that my RC instrument
can play fairly in tune at a high pitch (A442-445) with certain
mouthpieces (eg B45), so it is possible to play at German pitch on this
instrument (which plays optimally at 442, but I filled the throat tone
holes slightly and now it is no problem at 440)

I have not run accross this Denisov recording by Brunner. Could you give
me the label and CD number? I have quite a few of Brunner's recordings
and like his playing. His recording of the Reger Quintet and his Danzi
recordings are very good. Tone is a bit strident on some recordings but on
many is quite lovely.
