That list of recordings was useful, but it contained many inaccuracies.
Several recordings were sited in it that were made during McClane's tenure,
but while he was a co-principal. Careful listening will sort out the
Gigliotti recordings. The Gershwin is definately McClane, though. The Brahms
4th you mention is one of the best examples of McClane's playing. Much harder
to find is the Schumann piano concerto with Serkin, with beautiful clarinet
playing. Since Serkin and Ormandy re-recorded the Schumann not long after
McClane's death, the older recording was withdrawn early in the lp era.
