Ralph McLane. It's at the front of my mind, because I just today visited
a used record store looking for old Philly recordings with McLane. Doug
Miller of Appalachian State had an article about this in a back issue of
"The Clarinet", complete with a list of most of the recordings that could
be identified. Other woodwinds of note are Tabuteau and Kincaid, who
sounds fabulous on the "Afternoon of a Faun". I got Brahms Sym #4 -
wonderful playing, even through the old scratchy surface of the LP.
