I'm NOT denise, but I'm going to respond anyway. If you have soaked a
reed in water before you start playing it, it will not soak up as much
acid/enzyme-bearing saliva in those 15-20 minutes, as it will already be
wet. This is, of course, unless you happen to live in Greeley, CO, where
it is so dry that reeds will dry and warp WHILE YOU'RE PLAYING THEM
(*%$#&!).
