I use a Dukoff #5 with a Rovner lig and Rico Jazz reeds on my Mark VI with
low A. I have total dynamic control, can still provide bottom for the big
band at fff, and my fellow quartet players prefer it to other pieces I have
tried. Try the reeds first (cheapest fix), then pick a piece that suits
you, then retry reeds, then get a Rovner or Winslow that fits.
