I suggest the Rovner Mark III Light Bass Clarinet Ligature. It
seems to allow me to play with more expression and facilitates the use of
effects (vibrato, staccatto, etc....). These are commonly available, and
cost between $14 and $16. I alternate the Rovner ligature with a
silver-plated Selmer. It's the stock ligature that comes with the C*
mouthpiece. It costs about $18.
