Subj: Artie Shaw Concerto

I'm in a bit of a bind, and need some info fast.
Our orchestra will be playing the Mozart and the Artie Shaw concerto
with Bruce Yeh on April 12. The conductor asked me to rehearse the
Mozart with the orchestra in rehearsal. No problem. Yesterday he gave
me the clarinet part for the Shaw, with a recording of Bruce playing it,
and wants me to rehearse this concerto also at the April 1 rehearsal (no
fooling).
I'm a quick study, and have a tape, so hopefully I'll be prepared.
I would like to know some more about this concerto. None of my
reference books has anything other than the briefest mention. I'm
planning to get info via sources on-line, but I'd like to know if any of
you have played it, what you think about the piece, and any background
info you might have.
