What practice material do you recommend for a bass clarinet player who has
had only limited exposure to "European classical" music?

Although bass clarinet was initially only a double when I played baritone
sax in big bands, I am now concentrating on the BCl and anxious to improve
my musicianship on it, as well as my ability to produce in a "legit"
environment.

Is there, for example, an orchestral repertoire somewhere in print? Or a
listing of the most "popular" bass clarinet orchestra or band parts? [I do
have a chair in a concert band and obviously am working very seriously on
its repertoire...but I know nothing about the demands on a bass clarinet
player in an orchestral setting.]

Any comments/advice/suggestions [even bass clarinet jokes!] will be appreciated.

Thanks...Fred Sterns
