From: Alan Stanek <stanalan@-----.EDU> Subj: Translation - Schubert's Offertorium Date: Sat, 8 Mar 1997 21:24:08 -0500
Greg Barrett requested a translation of Schubert's Offertorium "Totus in
corde lanqueo" D. 136 (Op. 46). This lovey work for soprano, clarinet,
and piano should be performed more often IMO. The last time I performed
it, the soprano wrote a brief translation(?) for the church bulletin as
follows:
"The love of Diety is an arduous, devine love. It never ceases and is a
sacred, animated, ever-burning love. Christ is never separated from us.
His love is constant and devine."
Hope this helps your singer Greg, (and others). Are you still an ICA
member now that you are at Jackson State University?
Best wishes!
