There have been a number of inquiries about Selmer Signet
clarinets since I have been on the list. I don't think we have ever
unearthed any definitive or official information.

Basically the Signet is an student level (usually wood?) clarinet produced
by Selmer USA that was positioned between the Bundy and Selmer Paris lines.
There have apparently been several models such as Soloist, Special, 100,
etc.

The Selmer Signet Special that my parents bought for me about 1961 is
serial number 42984. I wouldn't think it would be worth more than about
$200. For some reason, my daughter decided she liked this instrument better
than the plastic Selmer CL300 that her brother started on so she has been
playing it since she started lessons last June.
