Starr,

Interesting and refreshing after talking about expensive reed cases that
might not work. I assume this is piece of rubber created by two parallel
cross-section cuts of the innertube (so it's continuous, like a wide rubber
band). Is that right? How wide do you cut it -- how much and what part of
the reeds do you put under the innertube?

Thanks--

Gary

Hi fellow clarineters.

In 1973, my teacher gave me a piece of plexiglass, approx. 1/4 inch
thick, 2x3 inches in size. He put a piece of bicycle innertube tire
around it, in order for it to hold 2 reeds on each side. I've never had
a big problem with warpage, and I still use that exact reedholder to
this day. I know that this doesn't answer any questions, but I thought
I'd post it anyway.

Starr
