I thought one factor that causes reed warping is when the fibers can't dry
evenly. If you held a reed flat with pressure on a glass, then the front
would dry faster than the back, since no air could get directly to the back
of the reed. Now if the bladder also was airtight, then I think the reeds
that never dried completely would get pretty gross after awhile!! I guess
it depends on how much air can get in through the sides.
