Don't laugh too soon -- this was the response from the Interlibrary Loan
office supervisor when she got my requests for materials. Assuming
(stupidly, I now realize) that the people who would see my requests would
be MUSIC librarians, I had used the standard abbreviations for instruments
in my requests, in order to save myself from writer's cramp. So I had
asked for, for example, a particular trio for "Eb/Bb/bass cl." and she
wanted to know what an "eee bee bee bee bass clarinet" was. At least she
figured out the clarinet part.

I rapidly discovered that Interlibrary Loan is not the greatest way to
obtain sheet music for research. The people who run the program here are
not trained as music librarians (even though we have one) and consequently
a lot of my requests were screwed up. I ended up doing most of the
searching FOR them.

I'll stop whining now. Happy Sunday afternoon!
