Kathi,
I played "Three Pieces" last year, my senior year in high school, in a
solo competition. I would say that the piece is pretty difficult (I
don't know what sort of scale to use, maybe you could consider it a grade
6 piece?); to give you an idea I spent a little over 2 months preparing
it with my teacher. He had played it at his junior recital in college,
and he had his original copy with the notes made by his professor.
Anyways, the most helpful thing was the recording I had of it. Listening
to the syle and interpretation was essential, so as to perform it
properly. The technical stuff you can do on your own. Anyways, have fun
with it. I enjoyed performing it a lot.
