Subj: question about Firebird Suite
Date: Fri, 28 Feb 1997 15:19:19 -0500

I'm preparing excerpts from Stravinsky's Firebird Suite as in Daniel Bonade's
book of excerpts. (Bonade orchestral studies for clarinet)
I would have looked this up in the score, but someone had it
checked out of my library and I need to play it for an audition this Wednesday.

If you use the Bonade book, on page 77 at rehearsal box 17, what should the
notes be for the last triplet and eighth note? It's written here c-f-d-c#, but
my teacher thinks it is really c#-g-d-c#. (She didn't have the score with
her, and I kept forgetting to ask her at home.. I don't know if I would be able
to get a hold of her this weekend.) Also, in the third measure of box 17, in
the quintuplet should the c's be natural or sharp? And on the triplet in that
same measure, should the triplet be g#-b-a or f#-b-a?

On page 78, in Danse infernale du roi kastchei, in the 5th measure of rehearsal
box 11, should that be a 2/4 bar followed by 3/4, or should it just be a 3/4
bar (and I heard it wrong on the recording I listened to)? In the 9th (or 8th
with the missing bar line) measure of rehearsal box 12, the last triplet is
written c-eb-eb-f... what should those notes be?

Thank you to everyone in advance,
