'Cause I've already bagged that particular snipe? ;-)

Actually I have a Vandoren 5JR (JB?) right now and it's my mpc of choice
for all the reasons you mentioned. To clarify my intent, I like experimenting
and listening to different types and kinds of mouthpieces just for the
experience of finding out how I sound on different mpcs, how they
feel, what the difference is in materials, etc. I consider it a big
part of the learning process.

Also, it's perhaps not so much a case of "looking for the perfect mouthpiece"
as much as "looking for the perfect mouthpiece that will overpower the
trumpet player[1] in my Dixieland combo."

[1] Hey, the trumpet player's one of my best friends. Really.
