I recently gave a copy of the humorous and very effective
Gavotte and Tarantella (1902) for wind quintet and piano
by Fritz Fuhrmeister (born 1862) to some professional players,
friends of mine.

This was a mistake for they promptly put it in a concert and
wanted to know who he was. He does not appear in any English
language music dictionary on my acquaintance.

If anyone has easy access to any German language music dictionaries
I'd be very interested to hear if any biographical information is
forthcoming
