Hello fellow alums of Drexel U!
Are there any more of us on KLARINET?
I probably predate Scott and David. I was student director of the ROTC
Band for 4 years ('66-'69) under Dr. Clyde Shive. Played in the Wind
Ensemble under Walter Blackburn. Was President for one year of Beta
Chapter, Pi Nu Epsilon, National Honorary Music Fraternity. Dr. Wallace
Heaton was choral director at that time. The jazz band just started
when I was a senior -- too, busy, couldn't join.
I don't believe Drexel has a performance major, but there is (or was) a
music/engineering major for the design of electronic and acoustical
instruments. They also have (or had) music/business majors for
performance management (i.e., how to run a symphony, opera, touring rock
group, etc.) and personal musical career management (i.e., the business
aspects of being a professional performer).
DU has come a long way. Pretty good curriculum for an engineering
school.
Good to hear from you guys. Feel free to contact off-line if you like.
