I would encourage anyone wanting to make reeds to start from the tube cane
- it isn't that hard to get from a tube to a blank with just a knife,
various grades of sandpaper, a plate of glass, and the dimensions of a
reed.

I just got some tube cane from:

It is by far the best I've ever seen. Thick - walled, even grain. The
reeds I've made from it are better than any I've ever had. You would need
to check around for the proper tube diameter to order for bari sax reeds.
Clarinet reeds are made from a tube diameter of about 25 mm, so I would
think that bari sax reeds would be 30 - 35 mm. Anyone know for sure?
