i read something yesterday that said that march is the month of composers
& also women's history month. so!!! if you all know of any women
clarinet composers out there, let me know. actually, if you know of ANY
women composers, let me know. i haven't come across many. don't say
hildegard von bingen (that's obvious), or shumann's wife (it Was
shumann's
wife, wasn't it, who composed?).

In addition to sneezy's list, there is a wonderful book titled
'Contemporary Concert Music by Women'. It is a pretty concise directory,
put out by the International League of Women Composers, Inc. I lucked
out on this in a used bookstore in Bloomington, IN about 10 yrs. ago. It
was published by Greenwood Press out of Westport, Conn. There are a lot
of women composing for clarinet, at all levels. E-mail me if you would
like more info.
