I use the odd numbered Rose 32 studies to teach liquid technique (Hite
Artistic Studies Book 1, Southern Music Publ.). I get a liquid sound myself
by opening my sinus cavaties, flaring the nostrils, focusing the airstream
with an arched tongue (thanks to Howard Klug), and hearing how I want to
sound before I play. Equipment helps, but it is the player that makes the
difference.
