In a word, no. I find the thumb key alone to be a bit stiff, so I always
press one of the pinky keys, but it should work fine with any one of them
(I usually use the low E key).

Demand your money back ;-) Seriously though, your repairman should
rectify this, he (or she) must have left one of the bottom keys out of
alignment. It should be a five minute job to fix.
