I have had good luck teaching students to hear the note first, then
whistling the note.
Sometimes they can't whistle as high as the actual note. I am looking for
wind speed and tounge postion. I also have students aim there air stream
higher for altissimo notes. If the tounge postion and wind speed is
correct they can play the note.

Good Luck,

Mike Moors
