Wait - Wait!! I'm a beginner and I'm playing on a C85 (115)
because it happens to be the one my kid doesn't like!! The
only problem I'm having with it (as a beginner) is that the
"sweet spot" for my lips is very narrow (compared to the B45
Lyre that my teacher had me try) and the volume I can get out
of it is not as great as the B45. Of course, my tone is
currently ... very, very bad ;^( but my teacher sounds fine
on it. Therefore I'd probably have to disagree with your
surmise that a high schooler couldn't handle it.

Hey, there IS someone out there!
The difference could be that you are using the 115. My 120 has a tip
opening of about 123, and rails the size of the great beyond. My HS
students who have tried it had a very difficult time with control. The
115 models I have tried are a much easier animal to handle!
