I find this hard to believe. I hasten to say that my Carinet is quite new, but
I've got a set of recorders which are now over 20 years old and only got better
with time. Since a recorder is made out of 'soft' wood (peartree in this case)
I would have thought that a Clarinet's lifespan should be far longer.

This is just a guess, of course. Does anybody know for sure?
