Subj: How to find a teacher
Date: Thu, 13 Feb 1997 10:40:42 -0500

Hi all,

I am ready to take lessons now, (I played in school, then didn't for about 20
years, and have been getting back to it for about a year now)
I was wondering how one goes about finding the right teacher. Since I am
paying this person to teach me, I would think that before hiring him/her that
there would be an "interview" of sorts. Yes? Is that proper ? I would
expect them to be at a certain level of playing etc. as well as being able to
play a certain type of music.. ie. - jazz vs. classical vs swing etc.
Not to mention personalities. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Thomas
