1963 is a 1962 Buffet R-13. It was re-conditioned a year ago and is a
pleasure to play. Barring any major catastrophic events, I'm expecting it to
outlive me. Seriously - someone once told me that the wood could become
"fatigued" or "played out", but it doesn't seem like a logical occurence as
long as the instrument is properly maintained. Any input on this, or is it a
topic like bright/dark sound and composted clarinets? (Just kidding -
although I especially enjoyed the posting about the compost that came OUT of
the horn... I guess we don't need any more COM postings (sorry - couldn't
resist)
