Dear Rick,
Congratulations! I'm a composer, and no, you're not the only one
who's trying such methods of dissemination. I have tried it too, but I
must admit, with considerably less success. So, if I might impose, I have
some questions: 1) Did you specify that you would charge for postage and
reproduction in you post, or after there was a response? 2) How many
responses came from amateurs (I am ignorant of such a list) 3) How
frequently did you post your notice? 4) Did you include descriptions of
the works, include performance history, provide performer references?
I am, like you, a composer trying to make my way by side-stepping
academia. Thanks in advance for your help. Perhaps we can swap
strategies, talk shop, etc. privately.
