The other part of this question was about the model. I think it
has been well established on this list that all Buffet models EXCEPT the R-
13 have the model name below the Buffet logo on the top joint. If there
isn't anything there, it is an R-13.

The very newest R-13s have "R13" on the barrel and bell (stamped into the
wood like a serial number). This appears to have been a very recent
development.
