Hello there!
This is my first week on this, so far fascinating, list. I am a
newcomber and a rather weak musician (One of Crusell's Duos for
clarinets is the most advanced I've ever played, and that was ages
ago). I use the clarinet (a wooden Eric Pettersson) as a way to relax
from my rather busy job (I am a foreign news editor at the Swedish
National TV). Most of the stuff on this list is far to advanced for
me, but it is still rather interesting, I get the feeling that; hey,
one day maybe even I will understand what a articulate G# is!
So to my question, the reason that I take upp your precious time:
A few weeks ago I bought a cute little Eb clarinet at a bazaar in
Sofia, Bulgaria. It's a very worn out wooden clarinet labelled "Rud.
Gottsmann". It costed me 30 dollars - that's more than one months pay
in Bulgaria. Cheap enough for me. And I bought a small harmonica for
my daughter Maria. (For ten dollars. It's a Russian Malysh)
1. Was it a bargain or was it just a waste of money?
2. Is there any point in trying to restore a very worn out Rud
Gottsmann? Is there any info about that instrument maker?
3. Where can I find notes and stuff, suitable for the combination of
an amateur clarinettist and a worn out Rud. Gottsmann from a bazaar in
Sofia, Bulgaria
I wish you all happy articulate G#'s!

PS I'm from the *arctic*! Anything about the keeping the clarinet warm
is interesting. Can clarinets really be kept warm?
