I can see your point. I've had 4 crystal mouthpieces and broke 2
of them. I never did, however, break one washing it. I broke one on my
tooth...believe it or not! and the other I snapped the tenon off it when I
was trying another clarinet (what a shocker that was).

I always am confident that if I break a mouthpiece, there's another
even better one out there with my name on it!
