I, for one, have been playing a Selmer BT with articulated G# for over 45
years and never had any trouble with the keywork. The extra hole in the
tenon doesn't seem to have any adverse affect on the sound. However,
there is one drawback -- you can't put a standard lyre on the instrument
for marching!
