Are you using a Leblanc basset horn, the large-bore kind which uses an alto
clarinet mouthpiece and therefore is technically not a basset horn but an
alto clarinet in F?

If so, that's what I play and I've never had any problem with using the
same altissimo fingerings I use on Bb.

Clark Fobes reviewed the horn for The Clarinet back in Nov/Dec '89 (v17n1)
and said: "The altissimo register reacted much like an Eb soprano clarinet
in that the pitch began to drop considerably above E3. I had no problem in
finding alternate fingerings that played very well in tune." Maybe he would
share these fingerings, if indeed this is the instrument you're playing...
