Hi everyone,
Sometime ago I seem to remember a post about one player's efforts to keep
their instrument insulated from the cold by putting a silk bag or pouch
around each joint inside the case. As it can get really chilly/windy
around here in Toronto, I'm wondering if others have tried this. Is silk
the best material to use? Without a source of heat generation inside the
case, does this approach really work with just the warm air already
inside the case when you take it outside?
I have a great Olathe case cover, but still find on the coldest days that
the instrument comes out of the case quite cold, and takes a long time
to warm up, both on the outside and in.
Thanks!
