Subject: Re: Frustrating tone problems

OK, this may be a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway. Lately, my upper
register and my throat tones are super "tinny" sounding (especially in
the altissimmo range) on my Bb. I can't figure out why. I know reeds
are super frustrating in Michigan in the winter, but I've never had this
much of a problem before. (I think part of my problem may be
psychological because I have grad school auditions coming up.)
Any suggestions?
BTW-I'm using V-12 3.5, Knox mouthpiece, R-13 clarinets

Certainly seems to be reeds ----- could be playing until muscles get
tired too often, too. Perhaps this is another instance of V12s apparently
being sold softer than they used to be.
