Is there anyone who can date Buffet Alto and Bass Clarinets from
their serial numbers? I had assumed Buffets had common set of serial
numbers. However, the used Alto and Bass Clarinets I have seen advertised
have serial numbers roughly in the 17,000 -22,000 range which would make
them antiques if my assumption were true.

Even a couple of list members who could tell me their instrument's serial
number and approximately when it was purchased would be a help.
