I guess I've been working on my own for over 20 years (wow how time flies).

Where else is it used? Other connecting linkages? I would be curious to learn
if he ever lets you know. (I have found other plastics such as styrene useful
for surfaces that slide like the left thumb key and the C/F left pinkey key.)
