For all of you who are not mathematically inclined, I suggest that
you make an attempt to be!! Go down to your local college used book store
and pick up a calculus book. I was flipping through mine today and found
some amazing things that had to do with music. I found an entire chapter
about piano tuning, another on acustics in a room, and how in an
elliptical room, if two people are standing at the foci, they can hear
eachother *regardless* of how far they are apart. I realize that a lot of
you will think that picking up a book like this would be rather pointless,
but it can help to familiarize you with equations that you may see in a
book strictly about musical acustics.
