Since Benade's book has come up, I thought I'd bring up another
book which I am reading and like very much:

Murray Campbell and Clive Greated, The Musician's Guide to
Acoustics, Schirmer, 1988, or J.M Dent, 1987 (in the UK)

Deals with fundamentals of musical acoustics, perception of
pitch, and talks about mechanisms of sound production in
all sorts of instruments and the human voice.

It is a musician's guide, so it isn't a physics textbook full of
equations. But to my inexpert eyes it seems sufficiently solidly
based in the physics involved to keep my math grad student's soul
happy.

It has less explicitly about the clarinet than Benade, but is more
recent. In particularly, the bibliography is useful.
