Gene,
In answer to your question about interpretation, I strongly
recommend that you get recordings of the Flute Concerto and his later
symphonies. You will immediately perceive stylistic traits and be able to
interpret his very gestural musical language. No composer works in a
vacuum. They all reuse ideas again and again.
