Well, Russellville, Arkansas most of the clarinet players are females.
When I was in band in middle school out of 50 beginners there was one
male, Leon. Then out of four band directors three of them were male. Mr.
Beard always bonded well with Leon. Probably because he never got
lipstick on his mouth piece. :) Now in college (Fayetteville, Arkansas)
there is a handful of male players.
