Since the barrel that I got with my A does not fit on my b-flat, I
have to switch both of them. However, your queston reminds me of something else.
Shouldn't the barrels for A and b-flat be of different lengths? Anyone have any
thoughts on this?

My B falt & A barrels are practically the same length, but have clearly
different bore profiles.(They are VERY far from being a matched pair).
This possibility is also something to bear in mind.
