Ken,
Welcome to the list, finally. I can't believe that there are no
community bands around. For example, there are lots of them in Virginia,
such as the Alexandria town band. Call up community colleges. They usually
have them. For that matter, even regular colleges often admit community
members. Check out AMU and Georgetown. Washington DC is a very active
town. If you can't find something then you're just not looking very
hard.
