Gary,
You have to go with the weaker strengths. It is an accepted fact
of life that GE bulbs are on the strong side. Using Phillips or
Sylvania will probably help. Phillips in particular are quite good.
They are shaped differently and their taper works better for this
kind of application. You don't even have to do any sanding or adjusting
with them.
