Excuse me for posting this to the list, but I'd like to clear something
up. I am not a college student asking the list to do my homework. I
am trying to put something on the 'net to HELP people with their
homework or research. My posting of the list of composers was to help
gather that info. There were a couple of entries that got there by
accident (and they were pretty obvious).

I do the Web site for fun, and I've gotten to know a few folk in
person as well as by mail; I hope to meet more in the future. The time
I spend on the site is my own, and it's been pretty enjoyable most
of the time.

The only reason for this clarification was an e-mail I just received
saying that I should have gone to the library & researched the
list myself. I'd have done that given time, but there isn't enough
in the day, especially since I'm trying to explore the 'net and
gather resources into a central site, along with re-formatting the
site for easier perusal. There is NO way I can check up on the 1500
composers I have in the database and keep my day job - I'm hoping the
Klarinet members can help out a bit. Many have. If you don't want to
volunteer info, fine. Just don't scold me for asking, or tell me
that Jan is a male name in Europe - in the U.S. it can be either
male or female, and, in my experience, is more often female here in
the U.S. (if used as a nickname). And no, I had no idea who the
conductor of the LA Philharmonic was.
