Hi,

I have watched from the sidelines for a few days, in awe of the
correspondence that is going backwards and forwards. As a "new guy on the
block" (and an absolute beginner) there is little that I can contribute -
except, that I am having my first lesson on 16th November 16!

At the age of 53, and with a lifetime ambition to play the clarinet, this
is very exciting for me. If there is anyone else in the same boat, I'd
like to swap stories and experiences. If there is anyone else who can
remember back as far as their first lesson, and has words of
encouragement and advice, I'd more than welcome it.

So every now and then I'll pop my head above the parapet to let you know
how I'm getting on, but if you don't hear from me for a while, rest
assured that I'm still practising, reading and learning lots!
