This performance is currently available on "The Clarinet: Historical
Recordings Vol 2" released by Clarinet Classics, CC0010. The Clar Clas
address is77 St. Albans Avenue, London E6 4HH, England.
The soloists (you thought I'd never get there, didn't you!) are the 1st
clarinet section of La Garde Republicaine, a french band. Quoting from
the program booklet:
"This transcription was a favorite with the Gadre Republicaine. In the
1930's, it consisted of 76 players, 20 of whom were clarinetists. The
solo part is played by all the first clarinets..."
"Bars 46-55 and 81-90 have been cut to accomodate the permitted recording
time per side"
Original recording was Columbia 9699 (c. 1929)
A personal aside - when I began to study with Frank Stachow, my undergrad
teacher, in 1965, I was working on the Concertino. He played me this
recording, and I was blown away.
Other interesting stuff on this CD - Benny Goodman playing Premiere
Rhapsody, NY Symphony/Barbirolli(1940) [only the second recording of this
piece - the first is Hamelin], and Kell, Shepherd on the Rocks(!?!),
Elizabeth Schumann, sop., George Reeves piano (1937)

According to Richard Gilbert's "The Clarinetists Discography III" The
recording of the Mozart Quintet K.581 by Augustin Duques is on Stradivari
STR601, or on Cassette CS268. Whether this is still available, or in what
fromat, I have no idea.
Richard Gilbert's "Dicography" is an essential resource, and everyone
should own a copy. It is available from Richard Gilbert Productions, P.O.
Box 112, Harrington Park, NJ 07640-0112, USA. phone is (201) 768-0971.
There is a new 1996 Supplement to the 1991 Discography III.

Hope this is helpful.
