The first time I'd ever HEARD of circular breathing was when I was
in high school in Annapolis and a clarinetist from the Navy band came to
demonstrate it. He played a transcription of a violin solo (which seldom
have rests for breaths, because solo violinists don't like to leave any
openings where the audience might hear anyone else playing besides them)
that went on for about 10-15 minutes. Very impressive. I wish I could do
it!
