I'm not sure about Kenny G, but it's a pretty common thing. There was a
special on PBS a while back with Wynton Marsalis & Yo-Yo Ma, where
Wynton demonstrated circular breathing. He also explained the use and
misuse of the technique; basically, there are a few good times to use
it and a lot more times when you shouldn't. Something like B.B. King's
statement "Playing blues involves knowing where to leave the holes
between the notes." (or something very similar).
