From: Jon Karlen <jon@-----.COM> Subj: Looking for a 20th Century Audition Piece Date: Mon, 30 Dec 1996 12:53:23 -0500
Greetings,
I'm putting together an audtion repertoire for my second round of
college auditions (transfering) and I have selected to the Mozart Concerto
as a classical work and the Weber Concerto #1 as a romantic work. I need
a 20th century work and here's where I need some advice. My technique in
the top range of the instrument (E --->) needs some work so I don't think
the Copland would show me off too well. The Bernstein Sonata is a nice
piece but I don't know about doing it without piano. I'm currenlty
looking into the Nielson Concerto - I'm not familiar with it but I do like
the work of Nielson and think it might be good for me. If anyone could
either offer any inisight on that piece and/or suggest any others for
consideration, that would be great. Thanks.
Jon
